This is a 'catch-all' page for all those complicated, but quickly explained, processes involving multiple workshops and/or ingredients.
How do I make steel?
Step 1: Make a pig iron bar at the smelter. The recipe for this is:
Step 2: Make the steel at the smelter. The recipe for this is:
Total ingredients needed: two iron bars, two flux materials, two coal fuels.
The end result of this is two bars of steel. The flux and coal are used up.

How do I make glass?
In order to produce glass, sand must be gathered in bags using a task available at a glass furnace. You must designate a sand-gathering zone from the (i)-menu that includes a sandy area, in order for this task to succeed. Gathering sand requires item hauling whilst moving sand bags to stockpiles requires furniture hauling. You will need spare bags in order to collect sand.
Once you have bags of sand you can order glass to be created at the furnace.
