A fairly weak creature, a macaque is a small monkey. They generally come in packs of three to four to raid your outdoor food storages. They often steal clothing items or small crafts that are laying around outside. Occasionally, they are brave enough to actually attack dwarves, but any sign of harm will send them packing. If you're particularly unfortunate, it is possible for a rhesus macaque to cause grievous bodily injury to a dwarf, mostly because the rhesus monkeys will latch on with their bite attack. Although it is rare, as rhesus macaques target valuables (which are supposed to be inside your fort, which is filled with dwarves), one of these mischiveous monkeys can actually kill a dwarf or two. It is best to attack them with armed warriors instead of wrestlers as getting the first strike is usually sufficient to dispatch or maim one of these little brats.
